Margaret Bruce

Margaret became Executive Director of the San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority (SFCJPA) at the end of June 2020. Prior to joining the SFCJPA, Margaret’s career has included co-founding Sustainable Silicon Valley, and serving on its board for eight years. As Environmental Program Director for the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Margaret successfully advocated for establishing the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Association (BAWSCA), for the passage of the Global Warming Solutions Act, and for a variety of other environmental, sustainability, and climate measures.

Margaret served on the San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board from 2005 to 2007 and was twice elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the San Lorenzo Valley Water District in Santa Cruz County. Margaret led the Local Government Sustainable Energy Coalition, advocating for energy policies that empower local government’s climate and energy resilience. 

Founding and directing her own consulting firm, Margaret provided services on energy and environmental programs and management systems, government affairs and advocacy, supply chains and sustainability, and supported the creation of WOCAN’s global standard for gender equity in climate mitigation and economic development projects in developing regions.
