Belle Haven

Belle Haven is the only neighborhood of Menlo Park east of Route 101. As a historically redlined, primarily BIPOC community, residents here have been prevented from building lasting wealth in this community due to discriminatory housing practices. Belle Haven is Menlo Park’s most diverse of the city’s five districts, with a population that is 69% Hispanic, 18% Black, 4% White and 3% Asian/Pacific Islander.

The Belle Haven Community Climate Change Team launched in March 2022 with massive community mobilization. Right away, the team got to work organizing its first project, the Breath of Air campaign, to provide air purifiers to protect against air pollution and wildfire smoke, as well as guiding focus group and survey development for CRC’s involvement in the Menlo Park General Plan update.
