Najiha Al Asmar
Resilient Education Program Manager

Najiha grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and has always felt a deep belonging and connection to the diverse communities and ecologies of the area. She's dedicated to fostering stronger, more resilient communities in the Bay Area. For seven years she managed a community gardens program with Fresh Approach at the Collective Roots community garden in East Palo Alto; supporting folks to grow food for themselves, share knowledge & skills, and create a robust network of gardeners to build long-lasting connections for community and place.

Najiha graduated with a MS in Integrative Ecosocial Design from Gaia University in 2018; learning about and implementing sustainable systems in urban settings. She received her permaculture design certificate (PDC) in 2013 from the Urban Permaculture Institute of San Francisco. Her work as a health promoter with Nuestra Casa in East Palo Alto sparked a passion for empowering under-served communities to take action for their health and environment.

Her passion for creating sustainable systems in urban settings has brought her to CRC. She intends to expand and encourage more educational opportunities for youth and community members to feel empowered in developing skills and knowledge to implement regenerative practices within their community.
