Ian Madden
Resilient Education Associate

Ian spent some of his early years in the Central Valley, but much of his time was spent growing up along the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. He has spent a significant fraction of his time in volunteering for efforts in education and outreach for students through STEM workshops, as well as working in smaller conservation efforts in the Chesapeake. This experience led him to his current position as a PhD student at Stanford University, where he studies measures to mitigate coastal flood risk. With this research focus in mind, he is very interested in climate resiliency with an environmental justice component. Through work at CRC, Ian is very excited to be out engaging in Bay Area communities, mentoring and working with youth, for a cause that he feels very passionate about.
